Helen Kirbyshire joined us in December 2017 bringing her wide-ranging physiotherapy experience to the team. Helen historically has supported the pain service at Addenbrookes hospital for some years. She found that her favourite aspect of the role was teaching, as she found that enabling patients to understand their pain, thus empowering them to manage it, gave her huge job satisfaction.
Helen has worked at Addenbrookes Hospital for many years, initially as a junior rotational physiotherapist gaining experience in all aspects of hospital physiotherapy, then she was promoted to a senior musculoskeletal post. Helen currently works mainly with acute injuries, in the Addenbrookes Accident and Emergency department, so has excellent skills in managing patients with new injuries. However, she enjoys all aspects of musculoskeletal assessment and treatments as well as bringing experience within Orthopaedics, Occupational Health and is also APPI trained, thus bringing an in-depth knowledge of Pilates supporting her patients’ rehabilitation and long term management strategies.
